Dunedin City Council West taieri & Waikouaiti

Dunedin City Council, West Taieri & Waikouaiti

$3.5 Million

Project type:
Water treatment

Plan Capacity:
1700m3/day & 3000m3/day

The Problem

The aim of the two projects of Dunedin City Council was to provide water in West Taieri and Waikouaiti which meets the requirements of the DWS. Both water treatment plants were simultaneously established and equipped with Ultra Filter membranes from KOLON to treat the 4 log water.

What We Did

FILTEC’s responsibility was the supply and installation of a turnkey UF treatment system on both sites including all civil, electrical and automation works. FILTEC project managers successfully managed the mechanical installation team, the membrane suppliers and the civil, structural, electrical and automation subcontractors at both building sites simultaneously. The mechanical fabrication and installation was undertaken in house, by a FILTEC fabrication team. Health and safety performance, environmental performance and all appropriate QA checking, testing and auditing were carried out with a high standard of documentation maintained.

The Results

The system met all required performance tests and tests after completion which included, peak flow/parameter and reliability testing.
