Automatic
Polyelectrolyte Preparation System and Dosing
Unit
Developed by Filtec to provide
a simple, cost effective, automatic polyelectrolyte
preparation system for the smaller end of the
polymer dosing market. Once the plant operator
has filled the Feed Hopper with granulated Polymer,
the plant is fully automatic controlled by its
own stand alone PLC.
The sequence of operation is as follows;
- Operator fills Feed Hopper
with Powdered Polymer.
- Switch plant ON.
- Water passes over wetting
pan discharging into top tank.
- Start mixer.
- Volumetric Feeder measures
required amount of Polymer into wetting pan
water stream.
- Water stops at top level
in top tank.
- Mixer continues and batch
allowed to age.
- Transfer valve opens and
batch transferred by gravity into bottom tank.
- Transfer valve closes and
process repeats making a new batch of Polymer
as detailed above.
- Bottom tank is the dosing
tank.
- Dose Pump continuously doses
diluted Polymer into the process stream.
Plant
consists of;
- Filtec Model 100 Volumetric
Feeder with translucent hopper.
- Filtec wetting pan.
- 100 litre plastic mixing
and aging tank with low shear agitator.
- Automatic transfer valve
and pipe work.
- 600 litre dose tank.
- Control cabinet with PLC.
- Can also include dose pumps
and dose timer.
